JADAFA is a joint partnership between the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and the agribusiness sector in South Africa. JADAFA aims to promote agricultural trade and agro-industrial investment partnerships in Africa.  The strategic focus of JADAFA is to provide information on African agricultural markets.  This information is meant to guide agribusinesses and government in the facilitation of engagements with stakeholders in target countries.

Zimbabwe raises its tariffs on agricultural imports
South African exports into Zimbabwe have, since January 1st 2014, been facing a higher tariffs after the Minister of Finance and Economic Development approved new regulations that have seen most agricultural products being charged duties that are at MFN levels.

                Latest Country Profile: Mauritius
The total land mass of Mauritius amounts to approximately 2030 km2; of which 17.3% is forested while approximately 43.8% is used for agricultural production (see Figure 2 below). To a large extent, the economy rests on the sugar industry, and approximately 90% of cultivated land area is planted to sugar cane.

Draft Employment Equity Regulations for public comment
The Department of Labour issued the Draft Employment Equity Regulations for public comment on 28 February 2014.  The Employment Equity Regulations 2014 provides practical guidelines on how to implement EE law in the workplace. These regulations will have major impact on Agbiz members.
